Our Initiatives
Walled Garden.
We work in the Walled Garden every Saturday morning. There’s always something to do - for beginners and for those that are a little more accomplished. As well as protecting and developing the plant and animal life that we have established, some of our volunteers take a bit of the garden and develop their own projects.
There’s plenty of space to sit in the garden and we’ve supported dozens of memorial benches being put in place.
Community Garden.
We established the community garden in 2022 because we think everyone should have the opportunity to grow and learn together.
We won a £50,000 investment from the Royal Horticultural Society and now, ten community groups have plots in the garden where they are growing their own flowers, fruits and vegetables.
We have a small social space in the community garden that anyone can book and run a programme of workshops that anyone can come to throughout the year
Tool Library.
We know that gardening tools can be expensive and storage space isn’t something everyone has.
We have a stock of tools that anyone can hire, free of charge, to use at home.
You can find out more about our catalogue and how to sign up here.
Tree Trail.
We have created a new public tree trail that spans the whole park. The trail maps out the variety of tree species that play a vital role in cleaning the air we breathe, supporting wildlife, and reducing the effects of climate change. We hope that the trail will inspire you to appreciate what a diverse and important natural resource trails are. You can see a copy of the trail map and learn more about the valuable role trees play in our environment here.
